Art as a Practice. Creating from Stillness.

Art as a Practice. Creating from Stillness.

Art doesn’t begin with an idea—it begins with presence.

When I paint, I’m not trying to control the outcome. I’m listening. To texture, to movement, to what wants to emerge. Some days the process feels gentle. Other days it feels like excavation. Both are necessary.

This approach is deeply influenced by yoga philosophy—the understanding that creation happens when we allow rather than force. My studio practice mirrors this: slow layering, intuitive mark-making, and space for imperfection.

I believe art has the power to regulate, to ground, and to remind us that beauty doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful moments happen quietly, when we let ourselves feel.

Each piece created in Om Shanti Studio carries this intention—to offer a moment of stillness in a fast-moving world.
